Neil Carroll is the managing partner of Nickel City Graphics, a boutique marketing company specializing in video content for the web.
After 7 years of being a successful lone-wolf “solopreneur”, Neil was faced with a choice after he and his wife had their young son: either hold back business growth to maintain a part-time schedule (and the availability required for childcare), or take on designing and building a business that could operate and grow even while he maintained his part-time hours.
We began a 9-month engagement with NCG in March 2015, setting out to recreate the company’s business development strategy, while simultaneously designing and documenting the core functions of the business, as well as elevating various aspects of productivity and management.
NCG surpassed revenue goals for 2015, increasing sales enough to bring on a full-time production assistant, maintain Neil’s light workload and flexibility, and still make more profit than in 2014. The new business development strategy has a steady number of new opportunities coming in with little work required, and the company is in position to continue its expansion in 2016.
